Keychron K11 Max

Keychron K11 Max Review - Pretty good as an intro board

I spent some time with the Keychron K11 Max, exploring it as a potential upgrade from my De Nufai Air keyboard. The K11 Max caught my attention primarily because of its improved thumb key layout. The keyboard features an ergonomic curve design that helps with wrist positioning and has some interesting design choices like an extra B key in the middle split. What really stood out was the thumb cluster design - both thumbs can access larger keys plus additional function keys, which was a significant improvement over my previous keyboard. However, the journey wasn't without its hurdles. The QMK/VIA support was a bit misleading, and I had to deal with some frustrating customer service experiences to get the programming interface working properly. While it's a decent keyboard, especially as an entry-level ergonomic option, I found myself still preferring my previous keyboard mainly due to practical issues like laptop compatibility.

Pros

  • Reasonable curve design for better wrist positioning

  • Multiple accessible thumb keys

  • Hot-swappable switches available (in RGB version)

Cons

  • Poor customer service experience

  • Limited software customization options

  • Awkward fit for laptop use
