There is an extension called redirector that lets you define redirects for your browser.
This let's you map https://www.youtube.com/ to https://www.youtube.com/feed/subscriptions! So everytime you land on the normal landing page you're redirected to a feed of people you actually follow!
Note that this trick doesn't just work for YouTube, you can use it for any website that has a landing page that you want to change to another one!
